Turns out, major groundbreaking discoveries in cosmology are really good for traffic. This week Space broke daily traffic record with 43.8k US uniques, then the next day broke records again with 47.9k. Alas, I have a sneaking suspicion this strategy will not work on a monthly basis...

This week also contained the milestone of our first anti-science comment, which promptly disappeared into the dank depths of "All Replies" as soon as I entered the comments thread. This all-powerful author-interaction for the highlights does have it's advantages, even if someone wanting to actually participate in a coherent conversation is pretty much hooped.
My thank-you this week is a close-up photograph of a human eye by Suren Manvelyan that looks remarkably like a nebula with a black hole in the middle.
